Celebrities Talk About Iran
The nationwide uprising of Iranians against the Islamic Republic has continued for over three months. Politicians and civil activists in different countries support this uprising, and Iranian protest rallies continue to be held worldwide. Since September and after the Iranians’ national uprising ignited against Mahsa Amini’s death, the art world has experienced a new arena. Along with holding art exhibitions and presenting different conceptual works to show companionship and solidarity with the people of Iran, more than 500 celebrities signed and published an open letter. Now we will name the most well-known celebrities who supported this movement. Most of these celebrities are Iranians; however, some international stars are also on the list.

Katayoun Riahi
Katayoun Riahi is one of the most well-known actresses who played in important series like Joseph the prophet. She was the first actress who removed her scarf and mentioned she was disgracing the current regime. Since Riahi has always been very close to government officials, this act was bold.
Ali Karimi
One of the first Iranians who joined the movement was Ali Karimi, who publicly protested against the regime. Karimi, one of Asia’s greatest-ever football players, fearlessly encouraged everyone to join the crowd and show their genuine desire.
Nazanin Boniadi
The well-known Iranian actress who enrolled in the Lord of the rings is considered the face of the movement. Nazanin spoke at the UN and tried to convince the members to expel Iran from the UN women’s council. As a public figure, she indeed became a great representative of Iranians.
Soroush Rafiei
One of the few football players who actively protested against the government was Rafiei. He is now playing for Persepolis, and when he was passing through a street, he saw a police officer beating a young girl. He bravely rescued the girl; however, he was arrested by the police.
Hamid Farrokhnezhad
One of the most famous Iranian actors who has always been considered a protestor is Hamid Farrokhnezhad. Many Iranians know him through his Morality Police movies, in which he shows how this part of police can lead to corruption. Farrokhnezhad is now living in the USA and has published anti-regime posts since he left the country.

Juliette Binoche
The French actress, who had a close relationship with Abbas Kiarostami and also visited Iran a few times, cut her hair to support Iranians. In an Instagram post she published, she indicated that she would cut her hair n favor of Iranian women.

Roger Waters is a well-known British guitarist who founded Pink Floyd. In his latest concert, he publicly criticized the actions of the Islamic regime and had an interview with Sima Sabet. He is now one of the most well-known critics of the Iranian government.
Angelina Jolie
Angelina Jolie has always played a vital role in informing the world about the cruelty of an anti-women government. She even had an interview with one of the protestors whose mother murdered by the government. She posted different stories and tried to show what was really happening in Iran.
 Marion Cotillard
 Cotillard who we know from her role in Inception once again showed her respect to women movement and cut her hair to support Iranians. After her bold act, she poster her video on Instagram and continued her protest with stories.
