Mohsen Chavoshi Hosseini (محسن چاوشی) is an Iranian musician, singer, record producer, and composer born in Khorramshahr on July 30^th, 1979. Chavoshi has released ten albums in all, including the soundtrack to the 2007 film Santouri.

Mohsen Chavoshi’s Childhood

As a child, Mohsen Chavoshi was born in Khorramshahr, Iran, where his father worked for the Oil Company, but he has Kurdish origin.

Having three brothers and two sisters, he is the fifth kid in the family and the youngest.

Following the occupation of Khorramshahr during the war, Chavoshi’s family relocated to Kermanshah and Mashhad when he was four years old, and then to Tehran when he was fourteen.

Beginning of His Career

Chavoshi started his professional career in music in 2003 with the publication of the album “Nefrin.”

Santouri and the First Official Album

In 2007, Chavoshi performed the title music of Santouri’s controversial film.

This film, directed by Dariush Mehrjui, was prohibited due to several issues. Also, Chavoshi’s voice in this film helped him become more well-known.

“A Lotus Sprout” was his first official album published in 2008 under an official license.

Chavoshi and “Shahrzad” Series

Chavoshi is the singer for the television home show “Shahrzad,” directed by Hassan Fathi.
